There is a reason your piano needs a tuning at least once a year.  It's all in the fact that the average piano has the total string tension of almost 36,000 lbs. over 225 strings.   As time goes by, even the best piano will lose some of that tension.  That translates to a loss of pitch which changes with even the slightest change in string tension.  This is true whether your piano is an upright or a grand.
